What is ixBrowser?

ixBrowser (ixbrowser.com) is a Chromium-based antidetect browser that leads with an unusually aggressive free tier. The site's own framing is blunt: "The ixBrowser free version meets the anti-detect needs of over 95% of users, with no compromise on fingerprinting technology." Every published plan, including the free one, lists unlimited browser profiles — what the paid tiers actually buy you is higher daily quotas, more sub-accounts, and a handful of gated features. That is a different commercial model to almost everything else in this directory, where profile count is the meter.

The desktop client ships for Windows and macOS (both Apple Silicon and Intel builds are published on the download page). There is no Linux build, no mobile app, and no Android emulation. The update log shows the browser is Chromium-only: it tracks Chrome releases through numbered kernels, and the newest listed is kernel 148, introduced in client v2.9.18 on 25 June 2026, alongside older selectable kernels going back to 114. No Firefox kernel appears anywhere in the changelog.

Key features

The published feature set is the standard multi-accounting toolkit, executed competently rather than expansively:

  • Per-profile fingerprint control: the official Local API SDK exposes canvas, WebGL (including custom renderer/vendor strings), AudioContext, ClientRects, font strategy, WebRTC mode, speech voices, media devices, hardwareConcurrency, deviceMemory, timezone, language, and latitude/longitude/accuracy — plus the kernel version used for that individual profile.
  • Team management: role-based permissions, profile and proxy sharing between members, and audit logging. Sub-account seats scale from 2 on the free plan to 150 on Enterprise.
  • Profile transfer codes: a documented mechanism for handing a fully configured profile (optionally including its proxy) to another account — the vendor markets this for account transactions and team handover.
  • Cookie and batch operations: import, export and edit cookies; create, copy and open profiles in bulk. Batch import is gated to paid plans.
  • Extension support: Chrome Web Store extensions plus self-built extensions, available on the free tier.
  • Passkey Manager: added in v2.9.26 (14 August 2026), with per-profile simulated passkey identity options.

What is not there matters too. There is no mobile or Android profile emulation, no cloud phone, no headless/Docker deployment story, and no no-code automation builder. ixBrowser is a desktop profile manager with an API bolted on, not an automation platform.

Pricing (verified)

Prices are published in US dollars and are among the lowest in the category. Every tier lists unlimited browser profiles; the differentiators are daily quotas and seats.

  • Free — $0/month: 2 sub-accounts, 10 profile creations per day, 100 profile opens per day, plus monthly bonus allowances of 300 creations and 3,000 opens. Excludes API, Synchronizer, Advanced Cloud Storage, Profile Transfer, Batch Import and Advanced Fingerprint Control.
  • Professional — $3.99/month: 20 sub-accounts, 100 creations/day, 1,000 opens/day, 1,500 bonus creations and 15,000 bonus opens per month. This is the cheapest tier that unlocks the API.
  • Business — $9.99/month: 50 sub-accounts, 500 creations/day, 5,000 opens/day, 4,500 and 45,000 monthly bonuses.
  • Enterprise — $19.99/month: 150 sub-accounts, 1,500 creations/day, 15,000 opens/day, 30,000 and 300,000 monthly bonuses.
  • Basic Developer — $9.99/year: 10 sub-accounts and free-tier quotas (10 creations/day, 100 opens/day) but with all premium features unlocked — including the API. For a solo developer who needs API access on a handful of profiles, this is the standout line item.

The pricing page advertises up to 30% off for 12-month purchases. Payment methods are not listed on the pricing page; the privacy policy references Alipay, bank cards and other financial institutions. The user agreement states plainly that "if there is no special reason, we will not support any refund" and that ixBrowser "reserves the right of final interpretation of the refund behavior" — so treat any purchase as non-refundable and use the free tier to evaluate first.

Automation and the Local API

ixBrowser publishes an official Python client for its Local API V2.0 on GitHub, which listens on http://127.0.0.1:53200/api/v2/ once the desktop client is running and the Local API service is switched on. The documented surface covers profile create/update/copy/delete, group and tag CRUD, cookie read/write, proxy CRUD, transfer-code issue and import, and randomized fingerprint generation. Opening a profile returns both a webdriver path and a CDP debugging_address; the README states these "can be used to attach Selenium, Playwright, or another browser automation tool to the opened profile." Puppeteer is not named in the documentation, though the same CDP endpoint is what Puppeteer consumes.

Two caveats. First, the API is a paid feature — it starts at Professional ($3.99/month) or the $9.99/year Basic Developer plan. Second, Python is the only official SDK, and because the API is local-only and the client is Windows/macOS-only, there is no supported path to containerized or Linux-based scraping. Compare that with an automation-first tool like Kameleo, which ships Python, JavaScript and C# SDKs plus Docker deployment.

Proxy integration

Proxies are assigned per profile and the Local API constants enumerate the supported types explicitly: direct, HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS5 and SSH. Proxies can be stored as reusable entries with tags, imported in several text formats (ip:port, ip:port:username:password, username:password@ip:port and variants) or JSON, and pulled dynamically from an extraction URL that refreshes either on every open or only when the current IP fails.

The API also documents a traffic package and a purchased proxy mode, with named gateway regions across three unlabelled providers — US, SG, AU, HK, EU, GB, UA, IN, TH, JP and several China-transit routes — which indicates ixBrowser sells proxy bandwidth inside the client. The marketing site does not advertise this proxy offering, does not name the upstream providers, and publishes no pricing or pool figures for it, so there is no way to evaluate quality or cost before signing up. Bringing your own residential or mobile proxies is the safer default.

Transparency and legal disclosure

This is where ixBrowser is weakest, and it deserves to be stated plainly. The site does not name a legal entity anywhere. There is no company name, no registration number, no registered address, and no "About us" page — the footer's "About Us" column contains two email addresses and nothing else. A privacy policy and a user agreement do exist at /en/privacy-policy and /en/user-agreement, but neither is linked from the site navigation or footer, so you will only find them if you guess the URL. The privacy policy opens with an untranslated Chinese section dated 27 September 2024, repeatedly cites the laws of the People's Republic of China, and is signed only "ixBrowser Team". The user agreement contains no governing-law or jurisdiction clause at all.

None of that makes the software unsafe, and the vendor publishes a page describing its own fingerprint test results against third-party checkers. But if you are placing hundreds of business accounts inside a tool, the absence of an identifiable counterparty is a real commercial risk: there is no named company to invoice you, to hold to a contract, or to pursue if something goes wrong. Agencies with procurement or due-diligence requirements should assume ixBrowser will not clear them.

The fingerprint controls are real and well documented in the SDK, and the proxy handling is more flexible than the marketing suggests.

The reason it is not a blanket recommendation is governance, not technology. No named company, no jurisdiction, unlinked legal documents and a no-refund policy add up to a vendor you cannot hold to account — which is a poor match for an agency running client accounts. If that matters to you, Octo Browser or Multilogin are the more accountable choices at higher cost, and OmniLogin at least names its operating company. If you need Linux, headless or containerized automation, look at Kameleo instead. As always, remember that running multiple accounts can breach a platform's terms of service regardless of which browser you use, and no antidetect tool can promise that accounts will not be linked or banned.
