What we think after testing Microleaves

Editorial review by Helena Björk · last tested May 26, 2026

Microleaves is one of the older names in the proxy industry, operating since 2012 and historically known for backconnect (rotating) residential proxies. The current site presents three product lines: backconnect proxies that rotate IPs roughly every ten minutes, dedicated HTTP proxies and shared HTTP proxies, supporting HTTP/S and SOCKS. It advertises over 26 million IPs, unlimited bandwidth, worldwide and GEO-targeted plans, and 24/7 support, with only a 3-day money-back guarantee rather than a free trial.

The most important context for buyers is that the brand is in transition: the site itself announces a rebrand from Microleaves to Shifter and redirects visitors to shifter.io, where the offering is restated as 205M+ residential IPs across 195+ countries with bandwidth-based pricing. The Microleaves site shows clear signs of being legacy: a 2016 copyright notice, references to defunct services, and several sub-pages (pricing, proxies) returning HTTP 404. No scraping API is advertised on the Microleaves domain, documentation is minimal, and there are no independently published performance benchmarks.

For directory purposes, Microleaves should be treated as a historical/legacy entry whose active product lives under the Shifter brand. Prospective customers are better served evaluating Shifter directly, where the network, pricing model and feature set are documented in current form.

This listing remains useful for historical accuracy and for users searching the legacy brand name.

Create a Microleaves account at https://microleaves.com. Self-serve access is usually available immediately.

  2. 2

  4. 4
