- 5Best for developers wanting quality and precise targeting over a raw enterprise-scale pool; pricing runs slightly above market.
The verdict
Benchmark data and published specifications — here's where Byteful lands.
- Granular targeting: country, region, city, ASN (10,000+ networks) and ZIP-level options
- Residential bandwidth never expires, even after pausing or cancelling
- 1GB residential free trial to test before committing
- Broad payment support including many cryptocurrencies (BTC, ETH, SOL, XMR, USDT and more)
- Smartpath AI routing can offload non-residential requests to datacenter nodes to save bandwidth
- Strong reputation for responsive customer support across Trustpilot and G2
- Four proxy types (residential, mobile, ISP, datacenter) with HTTP/HTTPS and SOCKS5 plus API-key access
- Advertised 35M+ residential pool is far larger than the ~1.5M IPs found online in independent testing
- Cheapest $1.75/GB residential rate only applies at high volume; entry tiers start near $3.25/GB
- Pricing skews slightly above market for comparable volume
- Modest datacenter (~6) and ISP (~15) location footprints
- No managed scraping API, web unblocker or SERP API for non-developers
- Performance figures (99.9% uptime, ~0.5s response) are vendor-published, not independently audited

What we think after testing Byteful
Editorial review by Maya Cortez · last updated Jul 16, 2026
Byteful is a proxy provider that operated as Ping Proxies until a 2026 rebrand; the company has been running since 2020 and now markets itself under the byteful.com domain (pingproxies.com still redirects there). On its published specifications it positions itself as a quality-focused, developer-oriented network rather than a volume play, advertising 50K+ customers and a 100 Gbps capacity. The site advertises four core proxy products: residential, mobile, static residential (ISP), and datacenter. There is no standalone scraping API, web unblocker, or SERP API in the lineup, so this is a raw-proxy provider rather than a managed-scraping platform.
On pool size, Byteful advertises 35M+ residential IPs and 6M+ mobile IPs spread across 195+ countries with major-city coverage. It is worth flagging that an independent test by independent testing found roughly 1.5 million residential IPs online at the time of checking, well below the advertised 35M headline, so the marketed pool number should be read as a ceiling rather than a concurrent-availability figure. ISP proxies are sold as a dedicated list from around 15 locations across the US, Europe and Asia, and datacenter proxies cover fewer locations (about six when last reviewed independently).
Pricing is per-GB for residential and mobile, and per-IP for ISP and datacenter. The headline residential entry point is $1.75/GB, though that rate applies at volume; the residential page's own tiers start higher at roughly $3.25/GB for 10GB, $3/GB at 25GB and $2.75/GB at 100GB, dropping toward $1.75/GB only on larger commitments. Mobile starts at about $2.25/GB, datacenter from around $1.60-$2.50 per IP, and static residential ISP from about $3.50 per IP. Byteful layers volume and billing-cycle discounts on top, advertising 10% off quarterly, 20% off annual, and up to 64% off at the largest tiers. A genuinely customer-friendly touch is that residential bandwidth never expires, even if you pause or cancel. There is a 1GB residential free trial, and rather than a formal money-back window the company suggests testing with a single IP or 1GB before scaling.
Feature-wise, the platform covers the essentials well. Authentication is via API key, with code examples for PHP, Python, .NET, Java, JavaScript, C/C++ and C#, and a documented dashboard for management. Targeting is a strong point: country, region, city, ASN (over 10,000 networks) and, per independent testing, ZIP-code targeting are supported, alongside HTTP/HTTPS and SOCKS5. Sessions can be rotating (new IP per request), sticky (up to 24 hours), or long-lived static for ISP products. Payment options are broad, spanning major cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and a wide crypto set (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Monero, BNB, Tether and more), with ACH/wire/BACS available for larger orders. A distinctive feature is Smartpath, an AI-driven router that offloads requests not needing a residential IP onto datacenter nodes to conserve residential bandwidth at no extra cost; Byteful claims up to ~40-60% bandwidth savings on browser-based scraping, though independent testing found the real-world saving more modest and noted it is less suited to quality-sensitive jobs like ad verification.
By published specs and corroborating reviews, the standout strengths are granular geo/ASN targeting, never-expiring bandwidth, strong static-residential and ISP quality, broad crypto support, and a reputation for responsive customer support (a recurring theme in its ~4-star Trustpilot profile and G2 reviews). Byteful does not publish independently audited benchmarks; it advertises a 99.9% uptime guarantee and a ~0.5s response time, which should be treated as vendor claims. independent testers' independent run did report high success rates (99%+ on most gateways, 99.8% on ISP) but those are a third party's results, not ours.
The caveats are real. The residential pool is smaller than the advertised headline suggests, so high-concurrency, geographically-diffuse scraping at massive scale may strain it relative to enterprise incumbents. Pricing skews slightly above market for comparable volume, and the cheapest $1.75/GB rate only materializes at commitment. The datacenter and ISP location footprints are modest. And there is no managed scraping/unblocker/SERP layer, so non-developers wanting a turnkey data API will need to look elsewhere.

How to get started with Byteful
A 5-minute walkthrough from sign-up to your first successful request. Total setup time: ~10 minutes.
-
1
Sign up + verify your account
Create a Byteful account at https://pingproxies.com. Self-serve access is usually available immediately.

Set up either an IP-whitelist auth or username:password pair from the dashboard. Save the proxy hostname + port into your scraper or browser config.
-
4
Configure rotation + sticky sessions
Decide between rotating-on-every-request (best for SERP scraping) or sticky sessions (best for account-based workflows).
-
5
Test with a real workload
Run 100-500 test requests against your real target before paying for volume. Compare success rate to Byteful's claimed rate before committing to an annual plan.
